Painted Floral Boots

ā€œHey, I put some new shoes on and suddenly everything is right!ā€

If you do not know this song by Paulo Nutini, you’re missing out. šŸ™‚

I currently have a lot of irons in the fire, and I’m struggling with finding the desire to finish projects right now. If I’m being honest, that’s always a struggle of mine. I’d much rather start projects than finish them. However, the changing of the seasons, and crisp fall air have me feeling excited and extra distracted.

Rather than complete any of the important, half-finished projects on my to-do list, I spent a couple hours giving a pair of old boots a fresh floral makeover. It is boots and scarves weather after all, and what better way to kick the fall season off than with a pair of fun “new” boots?

This is what procrastination looks like, friend…

One day, my studio table was scattered with paints, brushes, a little heart rock my son and I painted, and a rogue ball of yarn (no idea why). It felt like a portrait of my creative life — so I turned it into one.
